Pastor Nahum & Kayla Masimer
"God, take us where you lead."
In January of 2017, Kayla and I heard God speak to our hearts about planting a church that would teach people how to honor God and build lives that reflect His goodness to the world. This desire was strong, and we quickly realized that we were entering a season of preparation and transition. So we prayed earnestly and sought wise counsel in order to clearly discern the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Over the next couple of months, we had many discussions with the influential people that are in our lives. We shared with them what we felt that the Lord was saying to us. They committed to prayer with us and gave us confirmation for this vision.
The question we now had was, "Where?"
Kayla and I found ourselves doing a lot of driving and praying as we were seeking out the location that God wanted for His church. This did not seem to yield any answers. What we did not know is that we were driving in the wrong areas. I was at work and felt the Holy Spirit move. Coming home that night I told Kayla that I thought I knew were the area that we were supposed to plant the church. Kayla informed me that she heard something that same day. We told each there at the same time and it was the same place.
Now we had the "what?" and the "where?" questions answered, it was time to answer the "when?" and the "how?".
As we started to put together our launch team knew right away that God was surrounding us with some very talented individuals. We also knew that we did not want to jump in over our heads but we wanted to take our time and make sure that we do this the correct way. We are called to do everything with excellence and by taking almost two years to plan for a launch we are demonstrating this. This September will be almost two years and we will be launching with a team that is unlike any team we could have ever dreamed of.
Church planting is not something we know how to do, but we are thankful that God put us in relationships with the people that do!
